This year marks the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Bloomington Hospital Foundation (1967-2017). In celebrating 50 years of making a local impact on healthcare, the Foundation has launched a special $50 for 50 Campaign.
This week, many Foundation supporters received a letter explaining the campaign from current Foundation Chairman of the Board Kevin Theile, co-signed by Founding Board of Directors Member Doris Brineman. If a community member did not happen to receive a letter, they are still invited to be a part of the $50 for 50 Campaign!
“The idea behind the campaign is to make a collective impact in honor of our 50th Anniversary,” said Jon Barada, President of the Bloomington Hospital Foundation. “We’re asking everyone to give $50 in honor of our 50 years. In turn, we’ll show donors the impact $50 can make when a collective group comes together for a common cause.”
If the Foundation receives 50 gifts, it will raise $2,500 and will provide:
Equipment enhancements for the IU Health Children’s Therapy Center including activity trackers and adaptive seating.
If the Foundation receives 100 gifts, it will raise $5,000 and will provide:
A comfortable and ergonomic podiatry chair for the IU Health Wound Care Center.
If the Foundation receives 200 gifts, it will raise $10,000 and will provide:
The above podiatry chair AND one year of HIV testing support for IU Health HIV/AIDS Positive Link.
If the Foundation receives 500 gifts, it will raise $25,000 and will provide:
One year of support to the IU Health Olcott Center to provide gas cards, wigs and lymphedema sleeves to economically-challenged cancer patients.
If the Foundation receives 1,000 gifts, it will raise $50,000 and will provide:
Four non-invasive ventilators used to keep patients off of an invasive ventilator and potentially out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
At the conclusion of this $50 for 50 drive, the Bloomington Hospital Foundation will reach out to each $50 donor via email to let the donor know the total raised in the $50 for 50 Campaign. They will also let each donor know what is being purchased or provided and when they can expect it to be in place. Finally, the Foundation will follow up with a patient story showing the IMPACT of the collective donations.
“We’re excited about this $50 for 50 celebration campaign, and we hope our community will be excited to see the collective impact of their donations, too,” said Barada. “We stress the ‘impact’ the Foundation has on our local community quite often. And that’s what it’s really all about – making an impact on the lives of those served by our mission.”
