Touching Lives in the Community
The Bloomington Hospital Foundation is well-known for its health-related community outreach initiatives and is dedicated to touching lives not just at the hospital, but throughout the south central Indiana community.
Volunteers in Medicine
Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County opened in April of 2007. The clinic is owned, operated, and financed by the community as a free clinic for eligible residents of Monroe and Owen counties who do not have health insurance and are not able to pay for health care. The Bloomington Hospital Foundation is the exclusive fundraising agent for Volunteers in Medicine. Visit www.vimmonroecounty.org.
Meals On Wheels
Founded in 1973, Bloomington Meals On Wheels provides over 1000 nutritious meals per month to homebound individuals who are unable to cook for themselves due to an accident, illness, or disability. Meals On Wheels reduces health care costs by allowing clients to recover at home. The program delivers caring and nourishment daily to seniors in our community. Under our partnership, the Foundation provides fundraising and investment support and advice to Meals on Wheels. Visit www.bloomingtonmealsonwheels.org.
