LCW Legacy – planned giving

What are your dreams for local healthcare? How do you touch lives? Are you finding a way to make a difference in the world? What will be your legacy?

The Lasting Legacy Society is the name given to those who participate in planned giving to the Bloomington Hospital Foundation. The generosity of those that give will touch lives in our hospital for generations to come.

Digital mammography was once a dream here in Bloomington, as was the Hospice House. So many dreams for local healthcare have become a reality thanks in large part to planned giving. In fact, the majority of the Foundation’s $23.8 million in assets has been funded by planned gifts.

A planned gift can be expressed in various ways such as giving a bequest, charitable remainder trust, gifts of real estate and gifts of life insurance. The Foundation encourages potential planned givers to explore every option to see which best suits a donor’s philanthropic goals.

The Bloomington Hospital Foundation would love to partner with you in making a difference right here in our local community. Your gift can help those in our community lead healthier, better lives. Consider partnering with the Foundation and creating your legacy of giving – together we will make a difference in the lives of those we support.

Gifts of Gratitude

Former patients of IU Health Bloomington Hospital are encouraged to support the mission of the Foundation through our grateful patient program. Giving the gift of gratitude is a meaningful way to recognize and celebrate the excellent care you or your loved one received from a physician, nurse or other staff member during treatment at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Remembering Someone Special

In Memory giving allows friends and family to celebrate the life of a loved one by making a donation to the Foundation. In Honor giving is another special way to honor a friend, coworker, colleague or family member – or perhaps a caregiver who touched your life. We invite you to consider a lasting and meaningful tribute to someone special by making an honorary gift to the Bloomington Hospital Foundation.

Charles “Pete” and Barbara Dunn made a generous contribution to build the Centennial Plaza Garden. The garden is located near the main entrance of IU Health Bloomington Hospital and often visited by patients, families, and employees as it provides serenity and tranquility.

Engraved bricks and pavers are available to memorialize or honor a loved one. The personalized bricks/pavers are placed throughout the garden and will last for many years, serving as a place to remember someone special.

If you are interested in purchasing a brick or paver, please fill out this form or contact Sarah Bock at
