Dear Friends of the Foundation:
As we look toward the year ahead, I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on the ways your generosity has impacted local healthcare. Throughout 2016, you helped to support our mission as we dispersed more than $1.2 million in support of the hospital and our community.
Your contributions – both large and small – have made an impact in several areas of care. Just a few include:
We supported several of these important causes through events. Once again, 100 Men Who Cook was a successful, fun and delicious spring event raising more than $120,000 for G.O.A.L. and Meals on Wheels of Bloomington. Last fall’s Hoosiers Outrun Cancer was meaningful, as it always is, and raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the IU Health Olcott Center. The 2016 Gala was a success, too, raising funds that will truly impact the future of local healthcare.
And now 2017 gives us a year to celebrate! Founded in 1967, the Foundation officially kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration this year. Over the coming year, you’ll be hearing and reading personal stories about the many people who have built the Foundation into what it is today – watch for stories in the Herald Times, on our Facebook page, on our blog and here on our website.
A 50-year anniversary isn’t just an opportunity to review our past, but it also compels us to look to the future and the next 50 years. With the guidance of an amazing local board of directors, that’s exactly what we intend to do.
At the Foundation, we will not be defined by how much money we raise, but rather we will measure our success by the impact that we make in the lives of those served by our mission. The past 50 years of local healthcare have been remarkable. And thanks to all of you and your unwavering support, our future is even brighter.
